November 5, 2020 (Chicago, IL) - Maryland Bobcats FC would like to welcome Chicago NISA as the newest NISA member! The Peter Wilt-led team is bringing a strong community-based club to Chicagoland and we're looking forward to having Chicago join us as a new club in the league.
In the spirit of being a fan-centric club, Chicago NISA launches its website (ChicagoNISA.com) today where fans can offer up ideas for the team name and colors. Open for name submissions through November 22, the club will follow up with an advisory fan poll with the best and most interesting suggestions. The polling will continue into January when the club plans to announce the formal team name and colors.
Bobcats General Manager Evan Raimist got to spend some time with Peter Wilt at NISA Media Day during the Fall Tournament in Detroit, and is looking forward to getting to work with him and sees it as a very important add to the league: "Peter was and will continue to be a great resource for myself, our club, the league, and lower division soccer in the US. Besides being one of the nicest guys you will meet, he obviously comes in with a wealth of knowledge that is unmatched in US soccer. I'm looking forward to working alongside him and learning from one of the best in the business. It is obvious how important the community is to Peter and the club and we can't wait to see their growth."
Wilt said that "Those days at the tournament spent connecting with league executives, players, and coaches only added to our excitement for joining NISA. Today we launch a club that will engage the people of Chicagoland for an inclusive, diverse, and community-based organization".
Please join us in welcoming Chicago NISA to NISA!
